Position Announcement
The Project Director will play a key role in driving strategic
growth and innovation for the university's diverse assets and
resources. Reporting to the AVP of Commercial and Auxiliary
Services, this position will lead high-impact projects that enhance
revenue, improve operations, and foster innovation across a wide
range of university divisions. These include Continuing Education,
Dining Services, the UVU Store, Printing Services, Wasatch and Lehi
Campuses, initiatives for the Innovation District, major events,
and the Ashton Center for Leadership and Inspiration. By bridging
strategic vision with tactical execution, the Project Director will
create and implement frameworks that guide the university's
direction and introduce necessary operational improvements for
long-term success. This is an exciting opportunity to drive
meaningful change while helping to maximize and optimize revenue
streams for the university.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Execution - Develop comprehensive project
plans with clear objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource
requirements for monetization initiatives for CAST and as assigned
for various groups on campus. - Implement structured project
management methodologies to track progress, identify risks, and
ensure timely completion of deliverables. - Coordinate across the
university to execute project activities with each department while
maintaining alignment with strategic objectives. - Proactively
identify and resolve bottlenecks, resource constraints, and
competing priorities that could impact project success and the
long-term success of the department. - Establish and track key
performance indicators to measure project effectiveness and return
on investment. - Lead regular project status meetings to maintain
momentum and accountability across stakeholder groups.
- Strategic Design / Change Management / Continuous Improvement -
Lead the development of strategic frameworks that identify and
prioritize monetization opportunities aligned with university
strengths and market demands. - Conduct comprehensive environmental
scans to identify emerging trends, potential partnerships, and
untapped revenue streams. - Collaborate with university leaders to
establish clear vision, objectives, and success metrics for
monetization initiatives. - Design scalable business models that
balance revenue generation with institutional mission and
stakeholder needs. - Identify and evaluate potential partnerships
and collaborations that could enhance the university's monetization
capabilities. - Translate these strategies into actionable
implementation plans with clear milestones and ownership. - Guide
units through the adoption of new processes, plans, and business
models required for effective growth. - Develop change management
communications and plans that effectively articulate the rationale,
benefits, and impact of new initiatives. - Design efficient
workflows and standard operating procedures, aligned with
university policy. - Implement feedback mechanisms to gather
insights from stakeholders and end-users for process
refinement.
- Financial Analysis & Revenue Optimization - Conduct market
research and financial analysis to evaluate potential monetization
opportunities and prioritize initiatives. - Develop financial
models and projections to forecast revenue potential. - Identify
opportunities to scale successful initiatives or replicate proven
models across different university assets. - Develop business cases
for new monetization opportunities and present actionable plans to
university leadership.
- Perform other job-related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
- 4+ years of professional experience in project management,
strategy, or operations-related roles.
- Experience with financial analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related discipline.
- Professional certification in Project Management (PMP, CAPM,
etc.)
- 5+ years of experience in project management roles with
increasing responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience in areas directly related or adjacent
to the CAST footprint.
- Success in revenue generation or business development
initiatives.
- Experience with change management and organizational
transformation.
- Proficiency with data visualization and financial modeling
techniques.

structures, and decision-making processes.
- Knowledge of business model development, revenue generation
strategies, and financial analysis.
