qualified Med/Surg RN in Salt Lake City, Utah, 84102! Pay

13 weeks Shift: 12-hour night shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience:
One year experience preferred License: State RN license or RN
license from a participating state in the NLC Certifications:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced
Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Certification Must-Have: Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
Bachelor Degree in Nursing is preferred. Description: Assumes
responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating,
and collaborating with both the healthcare team and the
patient/family. Identifies and meets the physical, emotional, and
spiritual needs of the patient. Promotes optimal health,
well-being, and safety of the patient through use of the nursing
process. Follows patient care standards, guidelines, and the State
Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrates personal accountability for
relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
Assesses patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual
needs through observation, interviews, and review of medical
records and clinical data. Evaluates patient’s response and
intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Develops and
implements patient plan of care and observes outcomes in accordance
with nursing standards, collaborating with the interdisciplinary
team. Demonstrates competency in a variety of therapeutic and
diagnostic interventions including IVs, incision/wound care,
medication administration, catheterization, and specimen
collections. Promotes, advocates, and collaborates to protect the
health, safety, and rights of each patient. Provides patient/family
education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness,
needs, and abilities. Provides teaching and evaluates effectiveness
of instruction. Recognizes the patient or designee as a full
partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care. Promotes
respect for the patient's preferences, values, and needs. Delivers
relationship-based care that strives to understand what is most
important to the individual. Engages patients actively in all
aspects of care with respect for cultural differences and
diversity. Delegates to non-RN personnel in accordance with the
State Board of Nursing and hospital policy. Effectively uses time,
personnel, equipment, and supplies to provide high-quality,
cost-effective patient care. Acts as a professional role model for
all staff, demonstrating ethical, legal, and professional nursing
practices. Manages resources and patient flow by matching nursing
competencies with individualized patient and unit needs. Uses
standards of care, hospital policies and procedures, and regulatory
guidelines to guide practice. Functions effectively within nursing
and inter-professional teams. Fosters open communication, mutual
respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient
care. Precepts and mentors new staff or nursing students as needed.
Seeks out learning opportunities and continuing education.
Maintains professional records that provide evidence of competency
and lifelong learning. Evaluates personal integrity and nursing
practice in relation to professional standards and guidelines.
Takes action to achieve goals identified during the evaluation
process. Floating may be required to any location within sixty (60)
miles of the original assignment location. Float assignments may
include duties outside of original job requirements in accordance
