Some benefits begin at 60 days dependent on policy statement Your work assignments and duties require: Cross-train within department(s) and ensure safety and quality standards are maintained. Review production schedule with Manager to determine what models and stains are required for mixing product. Refer to white board weekly list. Mixing Processes Mix all stains, tined sealer, lacquers for the week, always working 1 week ahead. Will mix tester batches (newer color, not recognized, or determine difficult stains to specific models and level of end quality is a concern) Set up mixing station, grab all supplies (if running low on any product inform purchasing dept), then mixing process will begin determinate on chair quantity and colour and environment. Models will determine how much to pre-mix. Relabel all paint containers with correct code of stain to guarantee correct stain per booth and chair model. Distribute all stain, sealer and lacquer where applicable to spray booth to match chair models, looking specifically at customer orders. All current pre-mix stain and other product is kept in boom room or safe storage until needed. Understand and become the Subject Matter Expert on calculations i.e. If calculations are off, smaller batches may need to be mixed to make up short fall, this would be determinate on product, chair, environment, re-working, etc. Every new changeover of stain and lacquer, the first chair should be checked to paint chip as per customer order to determine correct match. All chairs on same customer order should be as close to identical as possible. Ensure all mixing is prepare in efficient time so this process does not hold up the production schedule of the paint department. Trouble shooting – if there are issues with the paint color i.e. first chair is not matching to paint chip, may need too cut down the stain density of color or increase to match chip. Customer Color matching – customer may request a customer color, the paint specialist will work on matching and testing to produce a close rendition of this for the customer. Example is sent to customer to approve prior to any work starting. Inventory Maintain inventory of stock to ensure what tint, sealer, stain is needed to replenish supplies, also looking at future orders so no run out of product happens. Maintenance T he paint specialist is required to oversee all aspects to the equipment in the paint shop both when equipment is malfunctioning and requires a quick repair or Preventive maintenance i.e. This includes the sprayer guns, hoses, pots, booths, fans, stacks, booth lights, etc. based on a weekly, monthly or yearly schedule. Maintenance duties as per ongoing schedule. Sealer/Lacquer/Stain Applications Apply sealer, lacquer, stain coats as per SOP ensuring the quality and productivity level is met and maintained. Report any sealer, lacquer, stain issues immediately i.e. runs, defective stain matches. Ensure spray gun is operating correctly to remove any unnecessary spatter of product on chairs or uneven stain applications. Keep the flow consistent from sprayer to wipers ensuring a steady pace for both roles to enforce easier wiping, and consistency of product dispersment. Performs other related duties and tasks as required.
